# 15 Syrah Aconcagua

Completely sold out.
Special note : Sadly, but truthfully, we did not make this wine this year. We made old bush vine Carignan (90+ years) this year and are happy we did. If you are interested in purchasing futures of the Carignan / field blend or the Cab Carignan blend form this past harvest get in touch soon as allocations are few and far between < 1200 bottles that are being spoken for very quickly indeed.
# 15 Syrah Aconcagua 2006
This wine was made from fruit from the Aconcagua Valley next to the big guns from Panquehue. It was harvested in mid April, was macerated for 7 days on its skins in frio, fermented in open oak barrels on their heads with punch down or pistonage. It was post macerated another 7 days and has evolved into an interesting wine indeed. We have sold two other Syrah deeming this one the best one to hold on to, and it has been worth it.
It is a deep slightly bricky cherry in colour, with fruit now evolved with medium structure and an elegance and robustness now married that seem to mark most all of our wines. With a bigger middle and a slightly longer finish this would have been one of our top-flight wines, but alas helps us to keep some great wine at a medium price. A great counterpoint to the big Cab now available.
