Vigno

Vigno stands for Vignadores de Carignan and is an association of old-vine dry-farmed Carignan producers. Our goal is to create a proper appellation of origin for the wines. It is good business the supermarkets but where Chile really shines is land not brand.

What are the rules for being able to label a wine Vigno?

  • grapes must be from dry-farmed,
  • bush-head / gobelet bush trained vines
  • at least 50 years old
  • located in the area known as Maule Secano
  • 85% Carignan
  • the other 15% must meet the same criteria as above
  • aged for a minimum of two years

Garage was a founding member of Vigno and we have been bottling Vigno since 2010.
Today Pilar is on the board of directors.
