I just wanted to say I love the name. I have been playing around with names on Wine labels today for my a Christmas gift for my dad. He has been making wine out of his garage for about 4 years now and never placed his own label on it. So looking for ideas, I google searched Garage Wine and there your company was. What a perfect name!
Are your wines Certified Organic ?
Are they vineyards organic? Absolutely, and not since a few years ago when we sought a market opportunity but rather for many many generations since our growers forefathers have been tending these wines with horses, sweat and small measures of sulphites. The wines are made naturally with native yeasts and without additives of any kind. A small does of sulphite when malolactic finishes and another before bottling. (Sulphites having been used in the preservation of wine for millennia)
However if you ask if each of our vineyards is certified? I am afraid they are not. The certification of organics is a business that has been built around large growers I am afraid. As a small firm that makes a different wine from 14 parcels of about an acre and a half each, the certifiers ask us for the same 1800+ usd they charge for large estate for each separate vineyard.
Thus, we are [proudly] uncertified until the day the methods of certification change to reflect the realities of small agriculture.
Soy Paula Velasco de Bodega Tinedo que te he llamado hace un rato.

Dear Garage Wine Team,
Browsing about wine on the Internet I came to know about you and what you do and I was really struck by it.
I work as a wine advisor in London in the UK, but I’d like to work in production in the future.
I will do my first harvest in Bordeaux this Fall and I am very excited about it. I’d love to continue gaining experience in wine-making in other countries and know all aspects (or almost) of production.
My main interest is in small hand-crafted production so when I came across your story I decided to give it a go!
Would you be willing to take up volunteers for the 2017 vintage for any amount of time?
I also emailed the MOVI project directly to widen the changes.
I am very much looking forward to hearing from you!
Do send me your CV- we are not looking for anyone a this time but I am know someone who is and it would help to have more info at hand. Derek (at) garagewineco.cl
Good Afternoon Derek,
Let me just say that I love this story and the humble beginnings of your winery very admirable. Great job creating this dream of yours, my question to you is do you have an importer in the USA yet? My company is based out of Miami and would love to be part of your success.
Thank you for your kind words – we are indeed with Elixir Wine Group out of Bend Oregon http://www.elixirwinegroup.com/
You will be able to find them with VineCraft in Florida
I try to email you on the firstname.lastname@example.org mail address from Norway, but I get an error message. Does it work or do you have another e-mail I can try? It’s regarding wine import to Norway. Please contact me on my e-mail address.
Apologies – email@example.com will work!
Thank you, I’ll try that.
I was wondering where you were located in Maipo. I’ll be visiting Santiago with family in December and would love to stop by for a tasting/visit.
Not yet but we are working on it !
I adore your wines. Was able to get them at the ready back in the US. I’ve since moved to Argentina to study South American wines for a new importing project I’m working on. Due to strict import measures here, I can’t find many Chilean wines. I’m doing a huge trip to Chile in February, hitting regions from the South back up towards Santiago. Do you know where I can stock up on your varietals while there? And, any chance you accommodate visitors or have scheduled tasting hours? A girl can dream. Hope to hear back from you. And, thank you for all of the hard work. You’re creating amazing wines. I’m missing them like crazy.
Thank you for being in touch and your interest in Garage Wine Co. We are available in Concpecion and in some small stores in Talca and Colchagua, but i recommend atocking up in santiago– do not heaitate to be in touch directly with me firstname.lastname@example.org
Difficult to know what we’ll be doing in Feb with kids vacations but get in touch late January and we can try to receive you.
